Overview
The Maple Ridge Fire Hall No. 4 is built to be there when it matters most. Designed as a post-disaster facility, this 22,800 sq. ft. fire hall supports day-to-day response needs while also creating space for training, maintenance, and the behind-the-scenes operations that keep a city moving.
Alongside three tandem drive-thru apparatus bays and a dedicated vehicle maintenance bay, the two-storey facility includes offices for Fire Hall and City staff, as well as the everyday comforts that support long shifts, from a kitchen and dining room to a gym and lounge. A large-scale training centre expands the hall’s capabilities even further, with a structure designed to meet NFPA standards and accommodate interior firefighter training.
Lighting throughout Maple Ridge Fire Hall No. 4 is tailored to the way the building works, blending durable performance with a clean, modern feel. In the gym, Shaper’s Fabrique drum pendants bring a warm, architectural presence overhead, while Corelite (by Cooper Lighting Solutions) Divide adds a crisp, continuous line of light through corridors and shared spaces, including areas like the kitchen and training rooms. In office zones, Metalux Encounter troffers sit neatly within T-bar ceilings, delivering comfortable, consistent ambient illumination for day-to-day work.
In the apparatus bays, robust low-bay lighting keeps the space bright and task-ready for crews and emergency vehicles, supporting clear visibility across the drive-thru bays and service areas. Outside, a mix of McGraw-Edison, Streetworks, and HALO luminaires helps define the site and strengthen visibility around the building, parking areas, and the training facility, with smaller details like in-grade accents from Lumiere adding a finishing layer after dark.
Together, the lighting package supports a facility designed to perform under pressure, day in and day out.
