Since day one, we’ve led with a people-first mentality, creating a team that is right for our business. ^{Our History}

1980s
The name Mac’s II dates back to December 1980 when two Mac’s decided they wanted to change the way business was done in the electrical industry. From the early days working out of a garage (and eventually a small office on School House Street in Coquitlam) to partnering with our first manufacturer who bent K12 lenses and customized stem rods, one thing was clear: opportunities were ahead.

1990s
The 1990s brought with it a partnership change, signifying the company’s growth and new direction. Now, with three partners and a new office, Mac’s II was able to focus on electrical products and grow the sales team, bringing on more manufacturers.

2000s
This decade of growth saw new partners joining Mac’s II in 2000, 2002, and 2008. We also expanded operations, adding Lighting and Electrical divisions, and created specification and design teams. With all these changes, it was time to move offices, and in 2008, the Mac’s II team relocated to the office we’re in today.

2010s
With a clear business direction, the 2010s were a decade of growth. The addition of key team members and the creation of the Controls team marked significant internal development, leading Mac’s II to undergo three office expansions. One of those expansions was the opening of our beautiful Vancouver Island headquarters in Victoria, BC.

2020s
We expanded our team and moved into a larger office in the heart of downtown Victoria in 2022. Additionally, we set our sights on enhancing our services, building an advanced marketing program, back-end systems, a clear project management process, a consolidated inside sales team, and an expanded electrical quotes team. It’s only been a few years, and we’re excited to see what else is in store for Mac’s II Agencies this decade.
