Overview
At the Gordon Head Recreation Centre, the District of Saanich needed to replace the failing lights in the public pool sauna. Partnering with Nedco and BL Lighting, Mac’s II Agencies delivered a lighting solution that exceeded the client’s expectations in both performance and installation.
The project called for a lighting system that could run on a remote power supply, provide even light distribution, minimize glare, and meet the stringent safety requirements for use in a sauna. The neonVIEW SAUNA Series from BL Lighting was the ideal fit, offering the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. With marine-grade IP68 wet location-rated terminations, this system provides superior resistance to humidity and heat up to 203°F (95°C)—making it the perfect solution for the sauna’s harsh environment.
Working within the recreation centre’s scheduled maintenance shutdown, our teams expedited lead times and installation, while creatively overcoming the challenge of mounting lights on tiled surfaces. A custom mounting channel simplified the process, ensuring efficient completion without delays. From design to supply, seamless communication kept everything on track and on time.
By leveraging creative solutions and precise coordination, the sauna is back in action, equipped with a high-quality system built for performance and longevity.
