North Vancouver, BC Maplewood Fire and Rescue Centre

Overview

The new Maplewood Fire and Rescue Centre is engineered for the future. This $32-million, 1.6-acre facility consolidates critical emergency services into one hub, making it one of the District of North Vancouver’s most sustainable and high-performing buildings to date.

Engineered by Introba, the 42,000-sq-ft centre brings together fire headquarters, training, dispatch, and rescue services under a single roof.

The lighting design uses LED fixtures throughout the site and facility, paired with occupancy and daylight sensors to further reduce energy consumption.

The expansive firetruck bays feature Steeler LED High Bays from Cooper Lighting Solutions: Metalux, selected for their industry-leading optics and integrated occupancy and daylight sensors. The VT3 LED, also from Metalux, delivers durable, precision lighting in the high-use locker rooms. Additional solutions from Lumark, NeoRay, USAI Lighting, Kirlin Lighting, BL Lighting, Visa Lighting and WaveLinx Controls assist in rounding out the specification—supporting both performance and aesthetics.

This multifaceted facility sets a new benchmark for emergency response infrastructure.
