Two Peaks Brewing, located in the heart of Kitimat, BC, was constructed from the ground up to celebrate good beer and food. The open and airy two-story taproom, with its large outdoor patio, provides ample space for patrons to enjoy the freshest beers in town. Whether kicking back with friends, hanging out with family, meeting clients, or simply enjoying a well-deserved treat, Kitimat’s first craft brewery is worth the trek.

When designing the lighting for Two Peaks Brewing, the aim was to seamlessly blend functionality with the taproom’s industrial aesthetic. The space needed to create an inviting and relaxed atmosphere for patrons while maintaining its distinct industrial charm. Mac’s II Agencies’ Tanya Lucente, LC and LEED AP certified, worked closely with Nick Markowsky and Brandon Highton, owners of Two Peaks Brewing, to create a comprehensive lighting solution. With her extensive experience in the lighting industry, Tanya provided a complete interior and exterior lighting package that met the aesthetic requirements and fit within the budget.

As you step into the taproom, the focal point of the lighting design is the Deep Bowl fixtures by Bock Lighting, a renowned North American brand. These luminaires are celebrated for their quality craftsmanship and modern industrial aesthetic, achieved through distinctive shapes and a variety of powder coating options. Strategically placed throughout the exposed ceiling, the cord-suspended downlights provide ambient illumination and elevate the taproom’s decor. The black framed ‘SHADE’ from Canadian manufacturer Liteline was utilized in the mezzanine for a soft general illumination that seamlessly blends in with the black structural beams.

On the exterior of the brewery, the industrial style continues with the wall-mounted GWC Galleon from Cooper Lighting Solutions: McGraw-Edison and the Vaportight EL from Bock Lighting.

The true highlight of this project was witnessing the owners’ vision come to life and enjoying a pint beneath the perfectly ambient lighting.
