Making a difference by supporting communities around BC. How Mac’s II Agencies gives back.
Community and connection are at the heart of Mac’s II and our entire team knows these values extend beyond our business. Getting involved in community programs and initiatives where our expertise can make a difference, or where donating time is needed, is one of the many ways we give back. We’re always looking to help, and these are some of the ways our team is paying it forward in BC communities and in the electrical industry.
In 2024, Mac’s Force II took part in our first-ever Tour de Cure ride, a two-day cycling event from Cloverdale to Hope, raising funds for BC Cancer. Cancer has touched many of our lives, and this ride was our way of giving back to the community. We’re proud to have raised over $30,000 for the BC Cancer Foundation, supporting those fighting this battle.
This journey was a powerful experience for our team, uniting us with a shared purpose. We look forward to continuing our support and inspiring others to join the fight against cancer.
In 2023 and 2024, we laced up our shoes to support the Terry Fox Run and we’re looking forward to many more years of rallying communities, raising funds, and spreading awareness for cancer research. Together, we honour Terry Fox’s spirit and his legacy, bringing hope and healing to those battling cancer.
On International Women’s Day, Mac’s II celebrates by donating to two charitable organizations chosen by the amazing women on our team! We come together in a boardroom, where team members pitch their chosen causes, and collaboratively determine where our donations will make a meaningful impact.
Since 2018, the Mac’s II team has been supporting the Ronald McDonald House Charities meal program. This program gives the 73 families who stay at Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon each night a homemade meal. It’s a way to help create a feeling of home when being at home isn’t possible and a way to help families focus on having a meal with their kids.
The Mac’s II team has come together year after year to cook a healthy, nutritious, and delicious meal for the families at the house. We continue to raise money and donate our time to support the amazing work Ronald McDonald House Charities is doing with the Family Meal program.
Sean was just three years old when he was diagnosed with leukemia.
On his final birthday at age seven, Sean received gifts from friends and family throughout the province. When he realized how many gifts he received, he turned to his mother and asked if he could share them with his friends in the oncology ward.
Sharing the joy and excitement with all his friends was the happiest Sean’s mom had ever seen him. From that day on, Sean’s mom kept his memory alive with Sean’s Gift of Sharing, an annual toy drive where all gifts are given to the patients in BC Children’s Hospital’s oncology ward.
The Mac’s II team aims to keep this tradition going by collecting toys and donations and donating them to the BCCH.
The Union Gospel Mission Clothing and Blanket Drive is a drive to help build funds in order to distribute emergency food hampers, grocery gift cards, hygiene products, and clothing to those in need. We’re proud of our team at Mac’s II for creating a large donation in 2022 and look forward to continuing to support this cause.
In 2021, during the South Cariboo wildfires, we organized a supply rally for firefighters ensuring they had access to basic essentials they couldn’t easily obtain. From soap and shampoo to bug spray, snacks, pillows, and feminine hygiene products, we aimed to support those on the front lines.
Collaborating with the local Girl Guides, we packaged the supplies, and our team engaged with coordinators and firefighters at the camp to understand their needs better. We also reached out to the community through the local radio station, seeking donations of time and supplies to aid those working tirelessly to protect our homes.
