Overview
When the District of Saanich set out to refresh the lighting in the children’s section of the Saanich Centennial Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library, they had a clear goal in mind: to create a brighter, more welcoming environment for young readers. The vision called for improved illumination paired with a sleek, modern aesthetic—replacing the tired fluorescent linear louvers.
Slim, seamless, and striking—the SLAB Pendant Light by Above All offered the perfect blend of form and function. With an ultra-thin profile, up and down lighting, and CCT selectability, these fixtures check all the boxes: high performance, low glare, and visual elegance. When switched on, they deliver a soft, even glow. Switched off, they practically disappear—adding light without visual noise.
A total of 21 SLAB pendants float effortlessly above the children’s zone of the library. The result is a brighter, more inviting space where young readers can explore, imagine, and learn.
