Overview
Squamish Fire Hall No. 1, located in Squamish, BC, is a state-of-the-art 18,000 sqft facility that serves as the new headquarters for Squamish Fire Rescue (SFR). The facility includes training classrooms, four drive-through apparatus bays, a hose/training tower, and dormitories. Additionally, it houses the District of Squamish’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), ensuring better integration and response during post-disaster scenarios. The grand opening in 2022, marks the replacement of the previous fire hall and establishing an essential hub for emergency response in this growing mountain town.
Our team of lighting and controls experts collaborated with the project’s key stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge lighting solutions tailored to the facility’s needs.
The fire station’s garage features the Define series by Cooper Lighting Solutions: Neoray. This series epitomizes minimalist simplicity, providing clean, uniform lines of illumination. Utilizing advanced linear LED technology, the Define series offers industry-leading efficacy and customization options, including aperture, continuous runs, and unlimited length. Its robust construction and modular components ensure straightforward installation and maintain straight, seamless runs.
Throughout the rest of the facility, a variety of luminaires were strategically integrated to enhance functionality and efficiency. These include well-known lines from Cooper Lighting Solutions, such as Corelite, Metalux, and Lumark. Each of these lighting solutions was chosen for its specific benefits, such as energy efficiency, versatility, and durability, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the lighting design.
Squamish Fire Hall No. 1 stands as a testament to modern design and advanced functionality, enhancing the capabilities of Squamish Fire Rescue and the District of Squamish’s Emergency Operations Centre. The collaborative efforts of our lighting and controls team, in conjunction with the project’s engineering, architectural, and electrical teams, ensured that the facility not only meets but exceeds the demands of a critical emergency response hub in Squamish.
