Overview
Star of the Sea Catholic School, established in 1981, is an independent elementary school located in South Surrey. The school embarked on a lighting retrofit project with the goal of replacing outdated fluorescent fixtures to enhance the overall lighting and design within the educational spaces.
One of the initial challenges was finding suitable replacements for the existing metric-sized fixtures. After evaluating options, the Edge, manufactured by Canadian company Liteline, emerged as the clear choice due to its innovative design and compatibility with various T-bar ceiling systems. The Edge is engineered to revolutionize standard panel lighting, seamlessly integrating into T-bar while delivering a high-lumen output without interfering with above-ceiling mechanical components.
Although the project encountered delays due to extended lead times for delivery, the Mac’s II Agencies project coordination team collaborated closely with both the customer and the manufacturer to mitigate these delays as much as possible.
Upon viewing the dramatic before-and-after transformation images, it’s evident how the new LED panels have significantly improved the lighting within the primary school. Thanks to cutting-edge technology, the learning environment has become brighter, fostering an enhanced educational experience.
